IGCSE course details

For IGCSE students (Year 10–11). Maths is at the core, and we also teach sciences, English and business subjects.

Aiming for top grades such as A*, we cut the marks lost to misreading the English or to the way answers are written.

• Read what each question is really asking and write answers that meet the mark scheme
• Build the skills needed for the next stage, including Additional Mathematics
• Aim for the grades that lead on to A-Level, IB and the student's chosen path

One-to-one online lessons, taught in English as standard. Each subject is set at 90 min × 4 lessons a month.

• Subjects are chosen with you, based on what the school offers and the student's goals
• Monthly online parent meeting and written report
• Lessons twice a week or more, and intensive pre-exam preparation, are explained at the consultation

Lessons run in this order: reviewing answers → teaching the unit → past-paper practice → planning next week.

• Using the official mark scheme, we find whether marks were lost to arithmetic, presentation or method
• Concepts, worked examples, and the standard patterns for solutions and written answers, set out clearly
• Past papers to practise timing and how to write answers
• Homework set from the school's pace, mocks and test dates

We use bilingual unit textbooks, past papers with explanations, topic practice and check tests.

• English, business subjects and Japanese: practice based on past papers and the official mark schemes, plus marking of written tasks

IGCSE (international edition — the regular course, not the UK-based tutor course) is ¥46,000 a month for four 90-minute lessons. Upper subjects (Additional Mathematics 0606) cost extra: ¥49,000 a month.
