Year 1–6 at local, international or Japanese schools
A continuing course for Year 1–6 students at local, international and Japanese schools. Four 50-minute one-to-one online lessons a month, with our own bilingual materials and personal homework matched to each school's curriculum, so the foundations are laid early. For curricula close to Japanese arithmetic, such as Cambridge Primary, we teach in Japanese; for children who prefer English, we teach in English.
We find where the student stopped, in their own words, not by checking answers.

Covers both Cambridge Primary and the Japanese national curriculum; units are re-ordered to match the school's pace.

Used to secure Japanese-style calculation volume. If the school sets a textbook or workbook, we follow that too.
Written by head office for the test range. Afterwards, mistakes are tied back to units and logged.
Materials, homework and predicted papers are all prepared by head office. Part of the material is published free in themaths curriculum explainers(bilingual).
The monthly fee covers lessons, daily personal homework and all materials including the practice app. All prices are in Japanese yen, tax included.

Full English fees depend on the tutor. The table shows the fee with a Japanese bilingual tutor (who can switch to Japanese if an explanation gets stuck). Fees with a non-Japanese tutor are given at the free consultation.
Materials, homework and predicted papers are all prepared by head office, in both languages.

Nansu Juku is not a once-a-week lesson. Lesson, homework, submission, marking and the weakness log complete one cycle every week, and that record decides the next lesson.
The tutor builds the lesson around the school's progress, the latest marked work and where the student got stuck. Lessons are recorded and reviewed by head office to decide the next step.
Homework goes out on lesson day. The tutor and head office write a week's worth for this one student and send it in a single batch. It is never a generic year-group worksheet.
Bilingual worksheets (PDF) and in-app practice, used for different things: arithmetic and vocabulary are drilled in the app, written working and proofs are done by hand.
The student photographs their work and submits it from the app. No paper handover, no postage.
Each question is returned as: answer → explanation (Step 1, 2, 3…) → check → tip → common mistakes. Written in both languages.
A correction is not the end. We record which unit and which idea caused the error, and the next homework and the next lesson are built from that record.
Parent, student and head office review the month together and set next month's targets. Head office sits in; it is not left to the tutor alone.
What was covered, what was mastered, where the student struggled, and next month's goals, in writing.

Notifications go to both the student and the parent. On iPhone and iPad they only arrive once the app is added to the home screen (an iOS restriction); the app walks you through it.
Anything outside the lesson goes to head office, not the tutor: materials, homework, university plans and scheduling are all handled in one place.
Tutors concentrate on teaching. Questions about materials, homework, marking and university plans go straight to head office. If the tutor changes, your contact and the whole record stay the same.
WhatsApp for anything urgent; the app or email (info@yabiku-edu.com) for anything you want on record. Whichever channel you use, head office receives it and passes it to the tutor if needed.
Request them in the app; head office coordinates with the tutor and confirms. Dates are never fixed in a private chat with the tutor where nothing is recorded.
Every month, without fail, parent, student and head office compare notes on progress. It exists so that a term never slips by unnoticed.
